Chautauqua Park is a hiker’s paradise, nestled at the foot of Boulder’s iconic Flatirons. There are hikes ranging from easy to extreme here that will offer great views.
After your hike, unwind in the park’s serene meadows or refuel at the Chautauqua Dining Hall.
For strong hikers I would recommend the Royal Arch Trail and for casual hikers, the BlueBell and Baird Trail.
Pro Tip: Arrive early to beat the crowds and enjoy peaceful trailheads!
This is a great hike, but it's long at nearly 8 miles. If you want a full day activity this is great. However, if you want the highlights you can do an out and back to the waterfall that is at the 3 mile mark.
The park entrance is a short 40 minute drive from Boulder, but is absolutely worth it. Make a reservation before trying to drive up.
